Is your life unfolding as a mere narrative, or does it resonate as a divine melody?  In this book of the Rethinking Discipleship trilogy: The Discovery, Ron takes us on a unique and captivating journey, delving into the various landscapes of life and the hidden, divine presence of God that we can uncover in each of them.

God wants to be discovered, showing us his glory through the refracted prism of life landscapes. Each landscape offers us a unique look into the rainbow of colors that make up the light of his glory.  He wants us to individually “taste and see that the Lord is….”, not just know about him but experience him.  And then, having seen his glory, declare it to others so they can share in the discovery.

The Discovery is not just a book; it’s a call to action. It urges us to engage in the journey of actively discovering and knowing God. It prompts us to reflect on our experiences with God and bridge the gap between belief and conviction in our relationship with him. It equips us to compose and pass on our sacred Life Song, our spiritual legacy.

Rethinking Discipleship: The Design

What does first-century Hebrew discipleship look like in the 21st century? Is the picture of a disciple that Jesus had in his mind when he gave the original eleven apostles the Great Commission anywhere close to the picture we have in our minds? In Rethinking Discipleship: In The Design, we will explore the blueprints for New Testament discipleship. Blueprints allow various people to contribute while maintaining the integrity of the original design. Paul saw discipleship as a building process. He was a wise master builder, laying a foundation that others would build upon. His challenge was ensuring each building followed the Designer’s blueprints, using the right materials.

The 31 Reflections in Rethinking Discipleship: The Design will help you be a wise master builder, whether you are building your own life as a disciple or helping others. The concepts and principles in The Design can help you be more intentional and effective in becoming and making disciples.

Rethinking Discipleship: The Quest

Do we know how to be authentic disciples? What should discipleship look like today?   Is there common ground between those first New Testament disciples and disciples in the 21st Century?  How did the gospel change the face of discipleship?

If we are serious about the Great Commission, we must consider these questions:  to be and make disciples.  Since discipleship is Christ’s idea, every generation needs to understand and embrace what he meant when he used this term.

Rethinking Discipleship: The Quest offers 31 reflections to inform and challenge your discipleship perspective and journey.  Each reflection will help you discover what discipleship is today with Christ as the risen, ascended Savior who is now King of his kingdom.

The HighQuest series is designed as a 3-dimensional discipling tool. It develops the vertical relationship with God (Knowing Christ Deeply), the inner relationship of transformation (Reflecting Christ Authentically), and the outward relationship with others (Sharing Christ Intentionally).

HighQuest can be used as a spiritual mentoring platform for building mature, reproducing disciples or as a ministry pathway for a 1-2 year discipling curriculum in a men’s or women’s ministry. The HighQuest series develops the convictions, character, and skills foundational to a lifetime of following Christ.

The primary spiritual discipline foundational to each HighQuest unit is the daily appointment with God. Through this skill, each person learns how to hear God speak through His Word, reflect on what they hear, and apply it to their daily life. HighQuest is not a typical Bible study with questions to answer. Rather, a guided self-discovery approach teaches people to feed themselves on the Scripture.

HighQuest: Women of Distinction parallels the men’s series but is adapted to communicate to a woman’s heart. Women learn the same spiritual disciplines and life issues but with a format that fits today’s woman.
